Baby Formula…bottled water recommendations?

Hi…has anyone had experience of making up bottles with powered formula, if so which water do you use?

I know bottled water is usually a no due to sodium and I can’t seem to find out much online (or on Walmart site) about sodium levels in the normal bottled water we would usually buy

Of course we’ll be boiling the water first but I just wondered if anyone knew a brand name that’s considered safe for babies that I could add to our Walmart delivery?

We’re staying onsite but not sure the tap water is safe enough or if he’d even drink it with that dodgy taste!

Walmart sell “infant” water that we used fine for making bottles. It’s usually in a bigger gallon bottle but we put some in a normal water bottle (stainless type) to take out and about.

On the same aisle that has the bottled water in most supermarkets they have big gallon bottles of nursery water for this very purpose, it’s a few dollars and it’s what we used every time we took our two when they were formula fed.

Thank you all so much, will have a look for that - I’d heard about nursery water but didn’t know if it was a con (like only using Evian in Europe, we almost fell for that one!).

I’ll be boiling the water in a travel kettle first, will that do for sterilising? We use the perfect prep machine at home, my mother despairs of me!

Have you considered just taking the ready to feed bottles? I stopped faffing about with formula when away from home, and just took the bottles, even if just out in town, after a terrible experience trying to cool a bottle for screaming DD in Costa, so RTF bottles were a godsend when out and about.

When away I always took some sterilising tablets and popped a couple in a sink of water and put the clean empty feed bottles in, once sterilised, I just sealed them up until ready to use.

Granted never did it on a plane, but when my daughter was just under 6 months old (I didn’t start weaning until 6 months, she was happy with milk,) I went away for 5 nights and took 5 bottles per day, it was this moment she decided to finish all her bottles.

Yes it is a more expensive option, but it’s less faff and you don’t need to worry about getting the right kind of water and then boiling it, weight wise (which would be the only problem,) just spread the bottles across the suitcases.

At home, I pre-made my bottles and then kept in the fridge until needed, my health visitor did not approve, but gave us advice on rapid cooling and how long to leave them. I also couldn’t get on with the steam steriliser, I hated it, so I just cold water sterilised, so always had the tablets available.

My little one only likes ready made bottles but 4 a day for 15 days will be impossible to pack and you can only click and collect a certain amount at boots after security at Gatwick!
