What happens if you break down?
Hi Guys
What do you do if you break down on the I4 but only have a UK mobile phone? I've driven there before on a previous trip with no problem as we went back in the daylight, this time due to seeing some family its likely to be dark and later in the evening, this has got me thinking what do I do if we breakdown. Chances are somebody, or the police, may stop and let you use their phone to ring your car suppliers breakdown.

OP. I'm lost sorry. Why can't you use a UK mobile phone?

I definitely wouldn't rely on that happening. We were stuck in the breakdown lane on I4 tonight. In 2 1/2 hours the only vehicles that stopped were the AAA technician that we called and then the tow truck he called. There was even a state trooper stopped across from us dealing with a minor accident on the central median. He made no attempt to check on us.
Everyone will assume you have a mobile phone to call for help. Plus on a busy highway by the time anyone spots you it will be too late to stop safely. Chances are your mobile will work fine if you switch on roaming. It should at least let you call 911 if you can't do anything else.

No idea sorry. We just use the EE phones we have and they just use the normal allowances we get here in the UK.
