Evening at Universal

Apart from the entertainment at City Walk are there any shows/fireworks at either universal studios or Island of adventure ?

There's nothing at IOA but US have the "Universal's Cinematic Spectacular Show" which is shown round the water in the middle of the park. Normally shown very close to park closing time. Also not a the same level as Disney in my opinion

There is the Blue man group if you are thinking of shows other than fireworks.

I have heard they are very good.

Agree. We also found that the Universal night time show was really disappointing. Yawn. Not up to Disney quality.
