Would appear holiday extras have stopped the 'get its free if you find it cheaper' thing, it's now 'if you find it cheaper we'll match the price' which is no real benefit to anyone!

It depends on what you want from a lounge. We always use lounge at Glasgow but mainly to sit somewhere quiet and have a couple of drinks I'm a nervous flyer and I'm calmer sitting in lounge. There's really not much food however so if looking for food be better going to one of restaurants, Caledonia is good and they have plugs at every seat

We haven't been impressed with the lounge since it was renovated. We have tried it on our last 2 trips and it is no longer worth the money in our opinion. We no longer find it a relaxing place due to how the seating is now laid out. They had a chance to do something more similar to the V-Room with but they haven't.
It never had the best choice of food and it still remains that way which is a shame. However, this could be down to the time of day we were in the lounge as we normally have an early morning flight when we fly from there. Later in the day the choices could possibly be better/fresher. You are also now limited to 3 alcoholic drinks per person that you have to go to the bar for. In the past you could have as many as you liked and could just help yourself. Whilst I don't have a problem with this and can understand why they now do it, there isn't always someone on hand to actually pour you a drink and you have to hunt someone down so it doesn't necessarily aid with a stress free start to your holiday. When we flew from Glasgow last week we actually just made do with Starbucks for a coffee and a breakfast roll and actually enjoyed it more. When we fly from Glasgow in September we are just going to go for something to eat and drink at Frankie and Benny's or the new James Martin kitchen instead. As I said, Glasgow really had a chance to improve their lounge experience when they did their refurb but unfortunately they didn't. However, if you can get it for free then it is worth trying.

Yes, UC Virgin customers get access...but its disappointment compared to the actual Virgin lounges at the London airports.
I don't think any Scottish airport has a decent lounge Edited at 06:34 PM. |
