The point is that the majority of the time it works out perfectly. It's the few times it doesn't work out that get posted.

Majority of the time isnt good enough. If people are paying for pre booked seats, that should be that. I think that's what Ruddian is getting at. I've seen on other threads people being criticised for moaning about the cost of pre booking seats, and being told that if their party wants to be sat together, to pay for them and not take the risk of waiting until check in. When actually, they could potentially be taken away at any given moment.
I booked my holiday through Virgin almost a year ago, and touch wood, have had no hiccups so far. But some of the things ive read since then, including this thread, has really put me off ever using them again.

I would politely disagree. Most things work most of the time, and we are all pleased about that. The sign of a quality company (as Virgin claim to be), is their ability to resolve issues promptly, fairly and to the satisfaction of the customer. This is where, as numerous posts on this site will testify, Virgin are very much less than adequate whilst charging the very highest prices.

No carrier appears better than any other and after many, many years of vacations, the only thing that attracts me to one carrier over another is price.. or a Dreamliner. Virgin provide neither.
