Our 5th Trip of Firsts: Day 2 - RPR, Universal & IoA

Today wasn't much better with the early waking! Fionn and I were awake at 4.45am with Robbie waking shortly after and Odhrán waking about an hour after us. We showered and headed to the club room for 6.30am again. Had some fruit and pastries, they have these little donut holes, like munchkins from Dunkin' donuts, they are amazing, some had jam inside and some were like a Boston kreme, sooo delicious 😋

We walked to Diagonal Alley, the sun was only coming up, it really is a lovely little walk. Got there about 7.15am and rode Gringotts straight away, took 10 minutes but most of that was walking through the wait area and getting the photo done. We all enjoyed this ride, had only done it once before (last year) so it still felt new!

We rode Minions next and Rob and Fionn did Rip Ride too. Did Transfromers on the way back to Kings Cross and got the Hogwarts Express to Hogsmeade. We walked straight onto Harry Potter & the Forbidden Journey, Odhrán is still too small for this ride so I waited at the child swap with him while Robbie and Fionn rode and then I rode with Fionn. Love this ride.
After this we went on Flight of the Hippogriff 3 times in a row. Odhrán loves this one Those express passes are just amazing. I'd never go to Universal again without them, worth every cent to stay onsite!
Robbie and Fionn rode Duelling Dragons next and then we had a look in the HP shops and Odhrán bought a wand.

Next up were the water rides. We did the Jurassic Park ride 3 times, Odhrán was asking to go again the minute we got to the bottom of the drop each time We persuaded him to move on after the 3rd ride, he was now tall enough for Ripsaw Falls and he remembered not being able to go on it last year, so the promise of heading straight to that got him moving! We rode this twice, such a fun ride, we got soaked!

Everyone was starving at this stage so we gave Popeye a miss and grabbed a pizza slice from the pizza place in Superhero Island. It was really nice.

We walked back to RPR, grabbed a few snacks from the club room and relaxed for half an hour. Went to the pool next and had another yummy cocktail Stayed there for a couple of hours then showered and got ready for dinner.

We got the riverboat to CityWalk as Robbie's feet were really sore. He had worn flip flops the day before, they were really flat and it affected his feet badly, he could barely walk.
We had dinner in Vivo Italian Kitchen. This was one of the nicest meals I had on holiday, I'm vegetarian and the choice can be quite boring in a lot of places. I had some kind of pesto pasta dish and it was really good. Kids were falling asleep again!
We went to Islands of Adventure afterwards and rode Spider-Man once and the Hulk 3 or 4 times! Got the boat back to RPR, there was a fire eater performing at the pool so we watched that for a few minutes but were exhausted again so all in bed for 10pm

An early start but a good day - and if you're going to get wet once you might as well do it multiple times! Great fun.

Thanks for reading. We won't either, the difference an onsite stay at Universal makes is huge

Great day again! I have never considered the Italian @ City Walk so it's good to know they serve good food.

We kind of just stumbled upon it, hadn't planned on eating there but I'm glad we did, would definitely recommend
