Anyone track eurostar prices?
So the eurostar fares for the last week of august are being released this week and i cant help but notice they seem to be more expensive then the other weeks inthe summer hols- do they release higher and then come down a bit like airline fares or is what i see on release the cheapest its going to get? Is thr last week of aug a more expensive time?
Thanks in advance for any advice |

Eurostar prices only ever get more expensive - I don't think I've ever noticed them coming down. Do the dates you're looking at include the bank holiday? This may be why they are higher.

Thanks for that. Im trying to avoid the bank holiday either looking at going sat-wed (the weekened before BH Monday) or mon-fri. The euro star is much cheaper the first week of the summer hols which we could also consider but then the hotels are more expensive so wont really gain anything 🙄

The cheapest fares are released before they even show on the website, and sell out within hours. Worth phoning a few days before they appear.
Other options which may be cheaper are changing at Lille, or going to Gare du Nord instead and taking the RER train. Both these options may also get you there earlier.

This is incorrect. I was rather annoyed as booked as soon as released (website even tells you that cheapest prices are to book as released) and prices later went down to £29. I emailed them but it was tough luck.

I have only known the £29 offer to be on the Gare du Nord trains, and they are always awkward times.

I've only ever seen the prices for the direct train go up over time and the lowest £72 return can be very hard to find in school holidays. Every three months or so Eurostar do a £29 each way sale but I've only ever seen this applied to trains to Paris or Brussels.

Has this happened to anyone else? Twice now I have booked with Eurostar whereby right at the payment stage they tell me that the last tickets in the train have now been sold (despite going through the booking process) only to then bump up the price by £40 when I try again. Lo and behold, check a few days later and they are still advertising the lower price. Seems quite dodgy to me but they don’t want to know and say it’s dynamic pricing.
