I didn't pretend to know the entire t and c's nor pretend to have any personal experience of this particular subject. But I gave an opinion based on the wording of 'expense' and if the banks would see it as an expense (which quite frankly it seems, no they don't want to see it as an expense but yes they do have to).
i absolutely am of the opinion, in these circumstances you should claim for all you can get. Better in your pocket than theirs!
Thank for that. I bet the banks aren’t happy that at least some people are learning about this and asking for the money. It’s certainly been a godsend to us. I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that nothing else goes wrong with my holiday from here on 😊

No they won’t be happy but shame on them for making it difficult in some people’s cases.
Enjoy your holiday, I’m sure it will run smoothly going forward

Did anyone make a successful out of pocket claim with Lloyds bank?

Under s75 you can only claim back what you lost...the only exception I've ever heard of was when it was a foreign transaction and with currency conversion you got back less than you paid out, so an exception was made and additional compensation was made...however, never say never, you might get lucky

You are wrong John and our experiences proves it. Section 75 is meant to return the customer back to the position of the failure having never occurred.

So if your new flights (same class etc) cost you more, and let’s say your now have to stay over night in a hotel because your having to go via Gatwick instead of Manchester, these extra costs can be reclaimed. Quite a number of us have proved this now from different providers.

So we claimed back our original flights with TC through Barclaycard and have had it all back. We’ve recently booked new flights with TUI but they’re about £1000 more. Is it worth trying to claim the difference now or would we have had to do it on the original form when we claimed?

Have you tried yet? Or have they told you no? If you also read the other thread on consequential losses, you will see how many people have been successful.

Claim it now. I’m with Barclaycard and they fully paid back my TC flights. I then booked a fly drive with BA which was £1000 more but obviously that included the car.
I put a sub-sequential loss claim in to Barclaycard £500 taking into account the price of the car.
After a few phone calls to chase them up they actually paid me the full £1000 difference as a good will gesture.

You can claim under section 75 now, if you read the other thread on consequential losses you will see the successes on this.
