Buyers asking for the blinds to stay

Now, we have filled out the fixtures and fittings list and put them as " NOT INCLUDED ", now the buyers want them to stay

Do we say no, or ask them for a price / to make a offer on them

Are they any use to you in your new house? If so take them if not work out a price. If you don't want to leave them it would be nice to tell them where you got them from.

If you can make use of them in the future, I would ask them for payment. However, if I had no use for them in the future, I would just leave them without payment.

If they will fit the new house and you want them, then say no. If you have no use for them, I would leave them at no cost.

I would consider if you could use them in your new house first or not. Also depends on if they have offered asking price or not. If not you are in your rights to ask them to pay a bit for them. When we were buying our house we didn’t ask for things to stay but they wanted to leave furniture (that we didn’t want) and asked us to pay £1000 for it. When we refused they then took all blinds, curtain rails, light fittings and the light bulbs!

I would be inclined to leave them and buy new. Less hassle and one less thing to transport😊

This is what I’d do (and have done before).

My last house has just sold and from the photos I can still that all the curtains and blinds were the ones I left 5 years ago 😂

We put the same and then used it as a negoiating point as in they wanted money off but we said we'd include blinds which worked! They wouldn't have fitted our new house and we would have had to fill in the holes that were left so were going to leave them anyway!
