It looks like a fun story but I can’t get behind the CGI 😭 It doesn’t have any of the usual Ghibli charm! Ghibli have been leaders in hand-drawn animation for such a long time- scenes like Howl’s bedroom still take my breath away. I feel like they have a long way to go to reach Pixar’s levels of technical skill (the scene with Woody and Forky walking through the rain in Toy Story 4 was almost too real!)

I agree - part of the charm of Ghibli is the hand drawn animation style.
This appears to be showing on NHK TV over the Xmas holiday, perhaps it is a one off? Either way, only the characters have a Ghibli look to them, but for the feel of them.
