Waved goodbye to school holidays

Hi All

I’m celebrating tonight...my DD’s are 15 (16 in Oct) and 18.

Youngest entering last year at High School. I have for the last 10 years worked in Education which has fitted in fantastically with family.
But now I have today been offered a full time Insurance job, working for a company I worked for 16 years, prior to having a family.

Those term time holidays are within grasp now!
Hoping to book a June holiday for when GCSE’s are over.

Youngest will be going to college but has already said not keen to come on holiday unless it’s Disney 😂 so DH and I will take advantage of weekends away.

Can’t quite believe it...

thats a wonderful thought, its definitely getting closer for you .

However, my 18-year old has just finished her A-levels and is heading to uni next month. As, like your youngsters, she still wants to be on our Disney trips, those have had to be in college holidays (so very very similar to secondary school dates). A-levels have been a very heavy workload for her, she even took work away with her to do on our WDW trip in October 2018.

We did look at doing a late June/early July trip to WDW as thats outside of main school holiday dates - however whilst the flights were a bit cheaper to get to Orlando, the accommodation was a bit more expensive at that time of year, and its busier in the parks compared with say, end of August into September.

Its great news for your non-Disney trips though, you can please yourselves .
