10 days in Florida, how does this itinerary look please?
Hi, we're going to Florida in a couple of months and would like to spend some time in both Orlando and the Keys. Our very brief itinerary looks like this:
Mon September 2 - Fly to Orlando Tue September 3 - Blizzard Beach Wed September 4 - Volcano Bay & Universal Studios Thu September 5 - Clearwater Beach and/or Big Cat Rescue Fri September 6 - Universal Islands of Adventure Sat September 7 - Typhoon Lagoon Sun September 8 - Drive to Florida Keys via Palm Springs or Ft Lauderdale Mon September 9 - Florida Keys (Key West?) Tue September 10 - Florida Keys (snorkeling?) Wed September 11 - Florida Keys (chilling?) Thu September 12 - Drive to Miami via Everglades (visit Vizcaya Museum & Gardens or Wynwood Walls) Fri September 13 - Depart from Miami Airport How does this look please? Have I overlooked anything? Thank you! |

Hello.
It looks a busy itinerary with a lot to squeeze in. It looks as though you are fans of water / water parks in particular as you have three down to go to. You have no Disney parks (other than water parks) and no SeaWorld. Is that your intention? In my experience it is helpful to work around jet lag. The very first full day you are likely to be up very early, bit tired quite early. Depending on what tickets you have and what the busy day guide suggests I would suggest aiming for a main theme park that day, and possibly the day after. Day 3 is where jet lag really hits for us so we wouldn't personally schedule a long drive that day. I can see that you currently have that scheduled in to go to Clearwater. Tbh given the drive I would skip it, as the beaches in the keys will be fab anyway and it's not adding a lot new, other than driving! What sort of things do you like to see / do? National parks ? Tubing, airboat ride, any of those would win over Clearwater for me if I was going to the keys too. |

Thank you! We have no interest in going to any of the Disney Parks (have done them all before, and whilst we enjoyed them there's not a lot of new stuff we haven't seen yet) and are actively avoiding SeaWorld even though I loved Busch Gardens.
Great tip about skipping Clearwater - just that extra day really frees up the Orlando portion of our trip and gives us a lot more free time and flexibility, will definitely give Clearwater a miss Tubing looks amazing! Is there anywhere you would recommend we do that please? We like the idea of visiting national parks but find Florida a bit underwhelming in that regard unfortunately. Thanks again |

Tubing at rainbow springs is fantastic but not if you are trying to reduce the drive a bit.
This thread may be useful - recommends Kelly park. https://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/sho... php?t=1136165 Air boats like spirit of the swamp or Kennedy / combined with a airboat ride are a common combo. |
