disney paper tickets are a thing from a very distant past



the easy way to not mix them up would be to get magic bands

the number on the back of the ticket is the same one you'll find on MDX.

Just look at the last 2 or 3 digits to identify them easily. Make a sharpie mark on the plastic RFID tickets, if you can't remember which character each party member has (or if there are duplicates)

If you don't have your physical tickets yet, and only have will call or email, just have the CM at the ticket booth mark them on the back
but here again, the easy way is magic bands, that would also avoid needing to collect the tickets if you don't already have the physical ones.
