World traveller plus

Hi guys,

Quick question re wt+.

In the past we mostly have flown economy however have had a few business class flights to NYC due to great deals.

Whilst we'd love to fly business all the time it's not easily affordable as there is 5 of us.

The question is how much space is there truly in wt+.

We normally book exit row seats as we are all over 6ft and find it much more comfortable especially with the guarantee of no one reclining into us as our knees already hit the seat in front in the upright position.

I know the seat pitch is 38inches providing an extra 7inches over the wt seat. But how is this affected by the increased recline? If the person in front uses the full recline does this considerably cut the knee room and general space? Obviously it's hard to compare to the space you get with the exit row but with the wider seats and upgrade potential I'm wondering if they are spacious enough when the person in front fully reclines to go for them over the wt exit seats and hope to get an upgrade to cw.

Thanks

From memory, the actual knee space isn't overly affected by reclining, it's the area where the screen is where you'd notice it more.

Unless you're getting a really good price, I wouldn't bother with WT+ - it's better than economy but not by much. Virgin PE is much better. If you want to go business, hold off for a sale or look at a boomerang (though they aren't that cheap these days). If you can't manage business, in your position I'd save my money and go economy.

I'd go for the exit row seats in economy every time.

I'm 6'2" and always book WOrld Traveler plus for the wee bit extra space it gives you. Would love to travel Club world (got free upgrade last year) but just can't justify the price.

I always seem to be unlucky and get a recliner in front of me - it does make leg space tighter but it affects the tv screen more!
Overall I would still choose world traveller plus for the extra space.

Exit rows will have more legroom and less seat width than WT+. if you book it early
The price is not that Much more than extra legroom .
The recline impacts getting out of the seat and if you have a heavier build .
Watch out for the IFE boxes encroaching on foot space on some seats .

The seats look nice, but as they're only an inch wider than WT seats, I really don't think it's worth the extra expense. It was a very tiny cabin and I felt very claustrophobic, made a lot worse by them enforcing 'night flight' mode on us on the way out as well as the way back.

I didn't feel as if I had loads of space, and the laptrays are useless unless you're size 10.

I would never fly WT+ again.

I love the extra space in WT+ and the fact it's a small cabin! I'm 6' 2" and the guaranteed extra leg & hip room is worth the money to me

Would always fly wt+ over economy. Plus the chance of an upgrade to club isn't possible from the back of the plane whereas you have a chance in wt+... !

Thanks for the opinions guys. Sounds like there is a bit more room for the legs. Not overly bothered with the screen being closer. The possibility to upgrade as well makes it an easier decision if we can get a good wt+ and cheap cw upgrade. Just hope it isn't too bad having done the last long haul in cw going back down the plane! 😩
