hypermobilty piedro boots help
Not just for Disney holiday but for this summer .
We have been told that he must wear boots but I'm worried about sweaty smelly uncomfortable feet . What do others do? |

Our DS has always worn Piedros. They are made of leather so do allow feet to breathe and he hasn't found them too uncomfortable worn with cotton socks in summer. There are sandal and trainer styles you could look at too as well as the boots.

I've looked at those and was told to steer clear of Velcro as it doesn't give the same support . Well we will see how he gets on :-)

It wasnt too hot when we went, DD just had the boots, we got her some lighter trainers with ankle support and these were ok for short periods, its difficult deciding what to do for best. I looked at piedro sandals, but they are very expensive and just like cut out boots. Her consultant at hospital also suggested sandals from walking/outdoor shop if it was only for the holiday.

DS has always had Piedro boots with moulded insoles. He seems to cope ok in the heat with cotton socks. When he's in his wheelchair in the parks though we put sandals on him. I have noticed his feet get cold very easily as he's used to his boots.

I was also told that i could use insoles from piedros with other shoes. DD also took her boots off when in her buggy, which helped keep her feet cool.
