Split stays

A couple of questions re: split stays as I'm now thinking we might do a week at Art of Animation and then a week at either the Beach Club, the Poly or the Grand Floridian.

1. Do Disney take care of the luggage transfer for you when you move from one hotel to another on-site?

2. Is the linking of park tickets and 2 different hotels going to be straight forward from a My Disney Experience type perspective (hotels and tickets likely bought from different places) or am I just asking for trouble?

1. Yes Bell Services will store and transfer luggage between resorts. Just call them from your room when you've packed up and they will collect, then call again from your next resort room for them to deliver.

2. I've no idea how easy this would be as you'd need to link the same tickets to 2 different reservations. I'm sure it must be possible as lots of people do split stays.

I booked split stays through Expedia then linked them to MDE.

For AS Mu I had to call Expedia to get a hotel confirmation code (fairly painless process), which I then put straight into MDE - no problems whatsoever.

For Swan my hotel confirmation code put into MDE gave me the right reservation reference, but because my name was in a slightly different format MDE had a bit of problem linking it to my account. I called Disney and explained situation to person who fixed it - again fairly painless process.

Essentially - fairly straightforward linking hotel bookings to MDE, and any problems I had were sorted out fairly easily by a quick call to Expedia/Disney...
