Mobile Budget trip! - but we’re going back finally!

Hi all! It’s been 3 years since I last frequented these boards! After a while of just not being skint after the last trip! we’re now saving for a house so Disney and Orlando have had to take a back seat.
As we were all in need of a holiday, any holiday! - we had booked Corfu for next August... and then I made the mistake of just taking a peak (DH had been looking through the Florida photos!) ... so we’ve swapped our basic self catering Corfu holiday in August for basic everything in Orlando in May, for an additional £50!

Was a no brainer really!

However, last trip was 3 weeks of Disney (staying at CBR) and Universal (staying at a beautiful Dibb villa)

this trip is no Disney (as a Disney family it is sooooo hard to say that!) staying at the Rosen Closest to Universal - cheapy cheap cheap!

Our kids are now 12,11 & 6. Only the littlest is a little down about no Disney as she was so little when we last went to she barely remembers! ... I’m thinking maybe a resort character meal for her just for a little Disney fix?

They are all coaster junkies though (even the little one!) so Universal will still be awesome for them.

So please... hit me with ideas to make this trip feel as special as the last - well that would be impossible, so maybe at least a little special!

Thanks!

We have done a couple of budget trips over the last few years also with no main park Disney tickets!

Have you looked at buying Disney annual water park tickets? We got them for just over £100 each (and used them for two holidays) which, as water park and Disney fans, was great for us. It gave us a real taste of Disney without the expense. We did about five or six visits to TL and BB over the holiday taking picnics each time and combined this with a few trips to Disney springs and visiting some of the Disney resorts eg: taking a boat out from Wilderness Lodge onto Bay Lake, eating at the Poly and then having a drink on the Tiki Terrace watching the fireworks etc. Although we love the main parks, these were also great holidays!

Consider an after hours event, yes still expensive for 1 evening but enjoyable and different

We are doing the same as you. Plan is to go to downtown Disney and maybe even have a ride round on the Disney bus 😂😂😂. I’ve told them for my 50th it’s Disney only!

Yes! I’m thinking this is a must. I’ve promised the kids a trip to Goody’s candy company for create your own snacks! Last time we were armed with about 50 snack credits use up though, so I’m hoping they don’t think it’s going to be like supermarket sweep again! 😄

Thank you! I love that idea! However, for the 5 of us it’s around £600 so a lot for water parks, especially now there’s Volcano Bay too. It’s around £250 for a one day pass and as we’ve never done Blizzard Beach that might be an option though!

I’d love to but wasn’t sure if there would be any in May. Will certainly keep an eye out though. Thanks ☺️
