Mobile Convince me of premium economy virgin

Looking at possibly upgrading hubby to premium economy. I will be with both kids in normal economy. My choice as I’m not too bothered.

It’s £336 to upgrade that one seat.

Can anyone tell me what the real difference is?

I wouldn't pay that much for one seat one way - I am only assuming that's for one way. If it's both ways then I'd go for it.

Bigger seats so more room, free amenity kit, better service because PE part is smaller / has less people. Priority check in - but you get this with some of the economy seats now. Get on/off the flight before economy passengers.

Just one way. I think it’s too expensive really.

wider seat, more legroom, better food and more service from attendants as there are less people to deal with & one of the first off the plane...which wouldn't be much use to him as he'd need to wait for you & the kids to get off to go through security.

I don't think it's worth that price, especially if it's only one of your group that will benefit.

I'll be brutally honest. I always fly PE. But I am very tall (female), I am 5ft 11. I'm all legs to be honest lol.

So years of flying economy was horrid for me. But this March, on the MCO-LGW flight, I had such a bad experience in PE I am now even more anxious flying it again.

So the woman in front of me was mildly intoxicated, and slammed her seat back from the moment the aircraft was airborne. Slamming straight into my legs and it made me jolt up in shock. (despite PE having extra legroom, I am so tall, it is still a bit uncomfortable even with someones seat back!). But this woman in front of me had the front row, so she put her feet on the wall in front of her, and was pushing herself back even further into my knees even with her seat reclined.

I leant forward and politely asked her not to do this, as I am tall, and it was hurting my knees. Due to her being intoxicated, she just looked at me without speaking, and continued to push herself back. To the point I asked crew to ask her, but because the woman was (I suspect ''pretending') to be asleep, they didnt speak to her. But she was still pushing herself backwards.

Moral is, that might have just been a bad luck for me, I was in near tears by the time we were landing at Gatwick because it had been so bad. So now, unless I can get row 19, I wouldnt do it.

I didnt recline MY seat on the flight because an old boy was behind me and was getting up to use the toilet every 15 minutes and he was grabbing my seat to get up (he was of large build) and I didnt want to have to put him through issues by me reclining too.

Would he need to wait? I assumed he’d be able to tottle on and go make himself useful getting the car

Tea in a proper mug.
Food eaten with proper cutlery.

That’s all you need to know. 😂

See I’m 5’5 so leg space not issue for me but he is 6’4 and long legs.

I had someone in economy recline which is fine but she didn’t put it up at meal times which annoyed me. Aww well can’t win them all

He could but usually you would go through as a household, not saying he couldn't but that's the norm

Him tottling off would leave you with all the bags, the kids whilst he can't do anything to help you.

Sounds like a great idea, you should speak to my wife
