alamo additional drivers
We will be renting a car to collect at LAX. We are staying with my cousin and her husband and would like for one of them to included as an additional driver. They both have Californian driving licences. Is anyone aware if this will cause a problem. The rental will be in my husband's name, and he will be the main driver (UK licence)

Yes it will be a problem sorry. The terms and conditions on Alamo say all drivers must confirm they don't have an American or Canadian license I'm sure. Have a look

Hi, many thanks. I emailed Alamo.com to ask direct, and they confirmed that my cousin could be listed as an additional driver, just need to present their driving licence. So happy days. He had been quoted $1000+ for a minivan for two weeks. I have now booked it and paid £393 for a dodge caravan for 17 days. Although it's with Alamo I booked it through purple parking, so won't be able to take advantage of the 'go straight to the garage' system.

Good news, always nice to save money!
They must be more lax with additional drivers then than they are with the main driver as this is in their T & C's Prices given are only applicable to holders of a UK driving licence and are not applicable to residents of the USA or Canada or holders of USA or Canadian driving licenses. Free additional driver offer valid on all car types and any length of rental. Additional driver must be aged 25 or over.
