Mobile H studios Adr advice

Another question I am on a roll 😀 our h studios day I can’t decide between a split day with an early lunch at sci fi and back for fantasmic ... or a later start with h and v Adr at 5 ... fantasmic package . Two adults, three kids ( 11, 9 and 1 ) . My first preference is probably the second option , buffet easier for us and the fantasmic package a bonus. Awful reviews tho 🤨 Don’t fancy any others at h studios. Any thoughts? X

I haven't done H and V but seen plenty of bad reviews and very few good ones. Unless you really want to meet the characters?

We have done the package twice with lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby, and it's hard to imagine us going anywhere else - utterly gorgeous restaurant, superb food and great service. It is two credits on the DDP (but we always manage to juggle credits from offsite/off plan days and do four Signatures each time).

We were underwhelmed with Sci Fi, fun theming but our food was nasty. 50s Prime Time was decent food and good fun with all the shenanigans.

Alternatively you could do Mama Melrose with the package? Not done it but it seems OK.

Or just get FPs for Fantasmic if you want to skip the queue.

Hi we don’t fancy mama Melrose, to be honest I hadn’t thought about Hollywood brown derby although we have spare credits so that wouldn’t be a problem! I thought it may be a bit fancy with the kids and the wee man !

I'm going with secret option 3 - not eating at HS

I did consider HBD for Fantasmic, but I couldn't get an ADR late enough in the day which would have meant cutting my morning plans short. I wouldn't be concerned about taking kids in there though, it may be Signature but it's still an in-park restaurant so pretty expected to be a lot of families.

Personally I think HS has the poorest options of any park, how about option 4 Get FP for fantasmic & eat at the Boardwalk

We did sci fi and H&V last year, our children were 14, 11 & 4. Even though H&V had a fair few poor reviews we went with an open mind thinking that it would be at least a fun meal for our youngest.
Oh my word, what can I say other than luke warm slop! I love all this bugs sweet but even I could not touch the deserts. It was grim.
We all enjoyed sci fi and going there again this year, maybe dark for a one year old though. My 4 year old though it was exciting.

Lots to do at Hol Stu

One of my fav "smell the roses" park

Nicest cast members and if this was in the M8 corridor i'd have an annual pass and go every weekend.

Food is not as good as other parks - so I guess I'd just hit the ABC com for a Sirloin stake and a Darth Cake and drinks all for a QS credit and then spend more time enjoying meeting Woody and Buzz, Midway Mania - never done the Walt film thing, Little Mermaid is kinda cute, then shops with the Disney jnr merch, can spend a time in there - then the Launchbay - meeting ewoks and kylo and chewie - now that was great fun. Disney Jnr live on stage and 4 great Meet and Greets - wee kids love that, then the Star Wars Stage shows, Movie Ride gone now? Meet Mickey and Mini, and Olaf, then Muppets - that's so funny and very interactive and a good chance to get out the heat. OHH another good thing for that is the Frozen show, then one of the best rides in Disney - Star Tours, and Kids can do the Jedi Training thing and watch the show.
Then INDIANA JONES stunt show - that's FABBY DOO.
Oh and stop for (or have breakfast) in Starbucks, great rolls cakes and COFFEE...
Then you've only got Beauty and the Beast/Fantasia Live on stage, Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster - as well as some more good QS places and the best Pin shop in WDW - oh and the sweet shop on the corner is AMAZING.

Yeah so as others have said - nothing much to do at HS - have day should do it - lol

We ate at Mama Melrose in November on the Fantasmic dining package. Our hopes weren’t high, we just wanted to get half decent seats for the show but we actually had a really good meal there, far better than we were expecting.

Thanks all, we loved h studios and will still have a fair few things to do so not concerned about that it’s just the food! I may just use qs as others have suggested as to be honest don’t fancy any ts!

PM's park review was lovely but somewhat random since we were all talking about the limited FOOD options. Nothing to do with the attractions at all.

My current plan is to try and book a 4th FP to Fantasmic after I've used my morning ones at AK as I like park hopping. Since it's in tier 1, I'm hoping this plays out as most people will be booking the T1 rides and I'm not really a fan of them.

Oh, and I'll be eating at YC beforehand.
