Can you book in advance to eat in The Leaky Cauldron?
Think we'll prob eat here when we are over there. Can you book in advance (or at all?) I hate the idea of turning up when we are hungry only for there to be a long wait.
I've seen character meals you can book but as we have CRT for DD, I wanted to do something for DS and they only seem to have Marvel characters which he isn't bothered about. I think I read on here about the minions and Gru but that isn't mentioned on the Universal app. |

I don’t think you can book the Leaky Cauldron but I don’t think you need to either. It’s certainly never been that busy any time we went.

It's not brilliant on food either. The so called English breakfast is appalling.

Ah, maybe look elsewhere then. I think DS may want a Simpsons themed dining experience.

Leaky Cauldron can't be prebooked. But both Leaky Cauldron and Simpsons food court have a similar system in that you queue for your food, then a cm directs you to a table. Leaky Cauldron bring your food to you (as you sit down) Simpsons - you take your tray at ordering point to the table. We enjoyed meals at both but Leaky Cauldron was dark and felt rushed and noisy. Simpsons was noisy but was less crowded.
The Irish Stew in a bread bowl was the best meal our family ate at Leaky Cauldron, although the 2 pie meal was nice too (cottage and fish). Everyone enjoyed their meals at Simpsons food court, the Krusty Burger was huge and tasty. The Chicken Arms with dip and celery and tator tots at Cletus' Chicken Shack in Simpsons food court was my favourite meal at Universal. |

We had the ploughman’s and really enjoyed it. I loved the atmosphere in the place and spotting all the quirky things inside.

I did like the sound of cottage pie, it's one of my favourites.
I may ask DS where he wants to go. I have a feeling he'll pick Simpsons over Leaky Cauldron. Good to know the food is better than it supposedly is in The Simpsons though😁. |

Glad you asked this question because we were just wondering this last night. We had a planning night with our friends. We are planning on doing Universal and IAO together and we had Harry Potter daft kids. We originally wanted to do the English brekkie but after reading not so great reviews think we are going to go for an early lunch.
