Kids Hobbies/Activities
Good Morning Everyone!
Looking for a bit of advice regarding DS10 and his hobbies. Or should I say lack of! He currently goes to karate once a week and has done for a few years (he’s pretty good at it) but I’d say since Christmas/January time he has not been wanting to go. We have tears/sulks. He’s absolutely fine when he gets there and he seems to have a good time. When he first was reluctant to go, I put it down to him not feeling great. He has had various illnesses since September including fainting episodes and I thought he was panicking about fainting but they’ve all disappeared and he seems back on top form yet he’s still not feeling the love. It’s got to the point now where I think I need to consider letting him stop but I’ve told him if he stops he has to do something else and he’s not sitting on his PlayStation all day which is basically what he would like to do. Yesterday he got “encouraged” (made) to go for a walk instead of karate. I’ve suggested swimming/football/rugby/tennis/junior gym/horse riding and he said no to every suggestion. He has no suggestion of his own either! My eldest is the complete opposite! He trains 2xweek, plays matches twice a week and in the holidays he will be begging his dad to take him to the local playing field to train some more. What do your kids do? Do they enjoy it? |
