Visitor toll pass - review

We landed yesterday so wanted to give a run down of our toll pass experience so far.

After collecting our cases I found the toll pass stand right in the centre of floor 1, near the exit doors to the parking garage.

There were 5 reps holding iPads. I approached one who took the confirmation I had printed out, keyed the info in and brought up my booking. He showed me the screen asking me to confirm all the info was correct saying we could amend anything that wasn’t. For me that meant changing my payment card (I had forgotten my Halifax clarity card) as you need to produce that to show them. I had my Santander zero card so gave him that card and he changed it to that. I also changed my rental company from hertz to Alamo as we had changed that booking just a few days ago.

He then gave me the tag which looks like this on the side that faces the windscreen

And this is the side that faces into the car

It’s quite small so I’m not sure there’s the need to remove it when parked up as someone suggested to stop us being noticed as tourists and therefore a target. Think we will probably leave it on.

He explained it would register as soon as we left the parking garage and we would then get an email confirming it had linked to our registration number.

Collects the car from Alamo and on driving through the booth she gave us the speil about their sunpass. When I pointed out we had signed up for the visitor toll pass she said that was fine then. That the visitor toll pass would automatically over ride the Alamo one and we would have no Alamo charges.

We left the garage at 16:05 and by 16:09 I had the email confirming it had activated, then at 16:29 the one saying it had successfully linked to the car reg

We did drive through a toll on the way from the airport but it is not yet showing under ‘manage my trip’. It has only been 12 hours though so will see how long that takes to show and will update this later.

Thanks for the update. Our rental is with Dollar in 2 weeks time so will definitely sign up for this now.

Coming to the end of our trip. We picked up a tourist toll pass at the rental car exit door (nearly sacked it off because they were quite a way down). Linked up quickly and email confirmation safely received. Have checked total a couple of times and its going to be cheaper than fees of Avis so happy days. Drop box to return the pass on way out of rental garage so it all sounds very straight forward.
