I would worry if we had pets. However we don't have any but do have a 3ft high wall and a 3ft fence on top.
Nothing gets in be it fox or hedgehog now.

Somehow the slugs do. Little tinkers.

We are using wool pellets as a barrier. They're called Slug Gone.

Also copper tape is meant to be effective.

I tried the copper tape around my pots and it didn’t deter them so went and got slug pellets which did seem different to previous ones (maybe they are the not illegal ones) and they didn’t work too well either . I then found some ones I bought last year and they did the trick . I may try the beer traps .

I’ve just opened our green bin for rubbish and just on the lip of the bin (not inside) the most horrendous fat slug was there awful looking thing I almost had a heart attack. Think it must have got there sheltering from the horrendous rain we had yesterday ugh.

Sadly so many people put slug bait down without thinking which is why we have less hedgehogs about now, they eat slugs, which then kills the hedgehog - very sad.
2 years back some uncaring person dumped a lot of old slug pellets up the local field, my friends two dogs found them before she could stop the young one eating a load of them, the dog died the next day at the vets - so if you decide to stop using them please think where you get rid of them.
