New villa resorts

Anyone aware of any newer villa resorts? We've always stayed in Emerald Island and still love it, but the last couple of villas have started to look a bit dated.

Would like to stay somewhere that was only a few years old.
I've found Windsor at Westfield which looks good.

Anyone stayed there or has other suggestions?

Thanks

We stayed in Storey Lake in Kissimmee last year which is a newer complex and we loved it. Our villa was so new and modern plus the swimming facilities are fantastic!

There are photos of our villa in my travel day installment of my trip report here if that helps

I'm finding it really difficult to gauge how large the individual villa pools are at Storey Lake. Was yours a splash pool Lisa?

Having looked around a few of the newer villa resorts, what always strikes me is how close the properties are, how small the pool and pool deck is for the number of people the villa caters for and how small the rooms are. These villas have been specifically built for the rental market with developers cramming in as many bedrooms as possible at the expense of living space. They clearly expect renters to be out all day every day because there is often not even enough space to seat everybody and large groups of people inevitably means lots of noise and parties.

If you are looking for a modern villa, please don't discount older communities with their bigger plots and more privacy but instead, do some research to find an owner who has upgraded their home to get the best of both worlds.

Spot on. The newer properties are definitely closer together and focused on cramming in the highest number of bedrooms possible rather than living space.

Have noticed this. For example, there's some lovely big 8 bed villas in Windsor at Westfield, but very little living space.

They've been quite clever in having two living areas, one on the ground floor and another in the landing area on the first floor. This would work well in giving the kids and adults separate hang out areas, but you'd struggle to get everyone together in one place.

Definitely more of a splash pool than a swimming pool but was perfect for a dip (rather than doing laps in)

It tends not to be the resort but the owners.
There are many who do not re invest in regular upgrades, thus many do indeed look 'tired'.
This can best judged by the number of repeat bookers an owner gets.
We have many and they all ask 'what we have upgraded/changed this time?'

Ask dibbers when they last went over and take note of the more recent visitors to a villa you may like.Speak with the owners and not just email.
