Mobile Maxpass questions

Can we buy Maxpass daily if we want them, and can you use them in both parks if you have hopper tickets.
Have read FAQ but it doesn't seem clear.
Thanks guys

What I know is from when I went last year and things may have changed, but if they haven't:

There are two types of tickets, one with maxpass included (as far as I know only sold through Disney) and one without maxpass included. If you don't have maxpass included, then yes you can buy them daily if you want them. You will only be able to buy maxpass once you've used your ticket for entry that day and not before - so I would typically scan in my ticket at the park entrance, then use the Disneyland app to buy maxpass for the day, then start booking fastpasses.

And yes it is valid for both parks, though the FP system is linked across both parks.

If you don’t have max pass included in your ticket ( we never have ) you buy it online once inside the park for that day

I’ve mixed feelings about it , it was imo no better for rides than the paper fast pass . At 10am earliest fp we could get for Soarin was 7pm and there were very few photographers in the Disneyland park

But in the California adventure park we really did get load of photos .

Still undecided as to whether to get it for sept

We plan our first trip next tear and was wondering if it’s worth buying our tickets directly with Disney including maxpass or buy from somewhere like ATD and get it in the park if needed?

Based on the current exchange rate it works out around £15 more per ticket to buy tickets direct rather than buying from say attractions tickets direct and then buying max pass when in the park.

Think we will buy tickets in the uk then add Max pass on when enter the parks. One of our days we will be arriving later so for that day wouldn’t be worth getting max pass.

We bought our tickets here through Expedia. We went Easter this year and didn’t buy max pass we just the paper FP and did all the rides we wanted. We got there at park opening and we’re able to do all the big rides before the parks got busy. At DCA we ran straight to get a FP for radiator springs and then went straight to the queue. The longest we queued was 30 mins and that was for Dumbo. Rode Incredicoaster 5 times.
