It’s great that you got a resolution that you are happy with but it should have been offered immediately. Presumably that’s the tactic as for everyone that pushes for what they paid for there will be another who will accept the original offer.

I hope Virgin Holidays have someone reading this and recognising how they have made a complete crisis when a drama would have been bad enough!
Totally wrong and a company with a good reputation needs to do better than this if they are to preserve this moving forward. There are lots of other travel agents or indeed Disney direct that will avoid putting anyone through all of this.

Glad you are sorted and what a difficult 24 hours spent getting to the solution.

I'm sure it was the mention of The Great British Mickey Waffle podcast that made them see sense

Along with the fantastic response from our fellow Dibbers - as always

Just tell them you want the holiday you booked and you're not paying extra because of their mistake.

You said they could move you to Coronado Springs but you would have to pay extra? I’d be insisting that they move you there with no extra cost to yourself. Read the rest of this thread as there is some great advice about who to email if you’re not getting anywhere with the people you’re speaking to at the moment

You were booked to stay at a value resort and they want to move you to a moderate which I think is really fair. They are highly unlikely to move you to AKL as that’s a deluxe. I’d call them back and ask them to that as they’ve made the mess then you’ll accept the change but as the error is theirs then they should stump up the cost.

An upgrade from a value to a moderate is a fabulous offer, they just need to stump up the cost as they did for the op.

If you’re prepared to pay for AKL I think you need a sum in mind and go back to VH with that.

So go back to them and tell them that and keep pushing for them to sort it out for you as it’s their fault. Don’t back down and get your email set up ready to go if you don’t get what you want

Well weve paid about £1750 each for 2 weeks end of november from Manchester, but then animal kingdom 2 weeks from the 01/12 from gatwick is £2100 ish if they can still offer me a discount this seems like a viable option
