Love my Denby set, ours is about five year old. Use the plates and bowls everyday and not a mark or chip on any of the set.
Can see why they are in démand.

Spoke to my sister a few minutes ago I thought I’d paid over the odds for the tea pot
She’s just paid £24 for a Denby dinner plate to match her wedding China set its used every day and that’s the first breakage she’s had I bought it for her cost me 2 months wages from my Saturday job 44 years ago
She’s added to it since
We’ve both got a thing about dishes glasses cutlery neither of us will eat soup with what we call a dessert spoon the only thing we both inherited from our mum, brother is the same
37 years on DH still can’t set a table properly with cutlery glasses right still se plates drives me nuts

We have some funny fat little airtight china pots that we were given for our wedding almost 44 years ago. I still use them but they live in cupboard now whereas they used to be on display by the kettle.

I have my mum's Denby (Troubadour pattern from 1970s) in the garage - a full dinner set, tea set, tea pot, coffee pot, milk jug/sugar bowl, gravy boat, lidded serving dishes etc.
I'll have to look into buyers.

Haha, this thread has just cost me money!

We were given a beautiful dinner & tea set for our wedding nearly 30 years ago use it when we have guests.

I broke the teapot a few years ago and after reading this thread tonight I looked on Ebay, saw a teapot, made an offer and the seller is delivering it tomorrow!

Makes me smile. Just been through same process and trying to decide next steps. Have a reasonable service of Denby. Never used. Must be 28 years old now 😳

Looked on matching China websites and the lot would go for north of £700. So offered it to them on their resale basis and they have offered me just about £100. Seems a significant mark up.

But can I be bothered to go the eBay route. Not sure 😕

This is mine Marrakesh

Plenty of it if dibbers need any missing bits and bobs !

Only time used was for my first daughter’s christening 46 yrs ago. Very retro now.

That was the dinner set I grew up with! Havn't seen it for years.. thank you for the memory lane trip 😀 We used it all the time, although the coffee pot hardly ever saw the light of day.

I've lived in the potteries all my life and whilst denby is a little different (being from Derbyshire not Staffs) the same is true.

It's incredibly expensive to buy, it's ruinous to buy a single replacement item a couple of years later, but try selling a whole dinner set for more than £50 - no-one wants them...
