pool size - is this really small?

I am looking for a villa for Greece next year and have found a really lovely stone built one but I have concerns over the pool size for 6 of us. It is 2.5m by 5 m- I have tried measuring it out in my house but am struggling to envisage it as pool A couple of the many reviews have mentioned small pool size but it does have very good reviews. For some reason I have set my heart on a stone villa rather than a more modern one which is a bit silly as we will be outside most of time so pool is very important !

I have to think twice about Metric as I still work in Imperial.

However that pool is only circa 3 foot wider than a tall Man!

Sounds more like a plunge pool to me. Certainly couldn't swim properly in it.

2.5m is about 8 ft. not very wide

fwiw my garden is 60 m2 and this would be a small pool imo

To convert linear metres to feet and inches multiply by 3.281 so that produces 16'5" by 8'3"

Have a look at our profile avatar - the villa we always go to. That pool is roughly 30' x 15' although it narrows a bit at the far end. So the one you refer to is roughly half the length and half the width.

Definitely a plunge pool and with 6 people you own the able to do much if all in it - I like a pool to swim a decent length in and one big enough to take my whole party for floating around drinking cocktails etc and if I cant do that with ease it would get a swerve from me

That is a small pool, it's not that much bigger than a 6 man hot tub. It would be nice to get in to cool off but no good for swimming (unless it's a toddler/young child) or water games.

FWIW, I'd be happy sitting in there - sunshine, a (plastic) glass of Mythos and a good book! Perfect.

We have a pool (I live in the South of France so pretty normal ) and our pool is 10m x5m. The smallest that is considered as swimmable is 8m x4m. When my kids have friends over, with 4 or 5 of them playing in it, it is good. More than 8 it gets a bit tight and they knock into each other a lot.

5m x 2.5m would be a plunge pool.

So it all depends on what you would be doing in the pool! Cooling off (ok), 2 of you playing games (ok), swimming (not ok).

We had a pool when we lived in spain it was 8x4 and you could swim in that , any smaller and you would only be able to mess about in it

Our pool is 12and a half wide by 25 long in feet so,it really sounds like a plunge pool
Fine. For cooling off and generally messing about in but not if you want to swim
Comes back to what are the priorities for booking

Thank you all for replies - deep down I think I knew it would be too small. There is another lovely stone villa but it’s a semi and that’s putting me off more than the smaller pool one 😀 think it will have to be just a ‘ normal ‘ villa though there are worse problems to have 😀.
