Drones and privacy ...l

Currently in a gorgeous villa up a mountain in Spain.

Last two nights had a drone buzzing above us from a villa a bit further down the mountain. We’ve watched where it goes and they’re English as we can hear them in the distance and watched where it lands.

We also had a drone over our villa in Florida last year.

I’m sure it’s fun for those with them but DH is now saying how we have no control over our own privacy with these things. I’m now tending to agree. Just wondered what other dibbers think of drones.

We were recently in Singapore watching the lightshow at Gardens by the Bay. It's all done to music and the effect was totally spoiled by some idiot with their drone hovering above. The noise from the drone was really loud and annoying. Luckily we had been to see the show a few nights previously without the interference. Selfish and invasive - I am trying to be polite here.

But yeah, I wouldn't be best pleased to have a drone flying over invading my privacy I have to say!
That's why you book a villa and not a hotel, because you want privacy

I would be feeling awkward wondering when it was going to show up again! Some people have zero consideration for others
Playing with a drone is fine in some places but I cannoyt in all honesty say I would even think about using one in the situation you/they are in.

I can’t say I’ve ever been exposed/bothered by one but the footage I’ve seen on one is not very clear. I don’t really see a privacy issue as you be hard pushed to identify any individual from drone footage I’ve seen on YouTube.

The noise would annoy me though were one to film where I was.

Drones should be registered as when they are used professionally they are a marvel. Watching a programme about investigating car crashes was one where it was immensely useful in getting the road open quickly.
Using them as toys or for stalking? Ban them.

Personally I don’t find them a nuisance but each to their own. I find some of the drone footage on YouTube etc fascinating, a different viewpoint.
Then again, I do love tech 🤖

I totally agree with you,it's definitely an invasion of privacy. I would be really annoyed if I had booked a villa in the middle of nowhere and some idiot was flying a drone over us trying to have some privacy. Hate the thought of someone being able to film my children without my permission. I had one flying close to my house a few weeks ago and it made me feel really uncomfortable.
Yes I agree some footage they take is amazing,we live near a wonderful castle and have seen amazing footage of it from a drone but that doesn't mean I want one flying over my garden. There is a time and place for them and people using them should be more considerate.
