Glasgow>Philadelphia>Orlando - American Airlines

Has anyone flown this route? Are American Airlines any good?

Thanks

We have asca means to an end i.e. Best price /times for our dates
and the advantage of clearing at Philly but wouldn't even think about it with anything less than a 2/30 min stop over
Planes as I've said a means to an end but fantastic crew they can get a pain in the butt travel to toe the line in a flash but will go out of there way with kids of all ages

Thanks, Gryff.
Haven't booked it yet but it's a good price and it's 2:30 stopover, so should make it!

We done this route in 2013 when US Airways ran the route, they were taken over by American shortly after. It's a great way to go, seem to get to the US quickly and immigration was easy.
We are in Florida now and flew here with American via Heathrow and can say it's the nicest plane I've been on great IFE. I would certainly recommend the route and the airline as long as the layover is long enough.

We've done the GLA - PHL - TPA route with US Airways a couple of years back and it was fine. The plane did not have seatback TV's just overhead but I wasn't too bothered about that. Philadelphia Airport was one of the better airports and there was plenty shops etc to browse round during the layover.

We were rerouted on to this flight in September last year due to hurricane Irma. We flew with our 17month and although the plane was really dated they were fantastic with my son. The moment we walked on the flight the stewardess came over and asked if my little boy would go with her and took him to the cockpit and got loads of pics of him “flying” the plane! We’ve done the route with and without a child and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. You do need to collect your bags when your land and recheck them but it was all very hassle free and you clear immigration there, the queue was non existent. If it’s a good price I would definetly book it!

It will be a BA codeshare but being a codeshare doesn't mean you get a BA plane.

The Glasgow to Philly flight is operated by American Airlines.

We did AA GLA-PHL-FLL last year would happily fly with AA again. The lack of personal IFE doesn’t bother me in the slightest and clearing immigration in PHL was a breeze. Landing in FLL and just waking straight off was bliss.

I’m hoping for GLA-PHL-MCO for next summer so fingers crossed.

The food, staff and service was fine (I’m ex cabin crew).

xx
