Freeview Recorders

Hi there,

Has anyone got any advice on Freeview Recorders? My nan only has Freeview on her tv and would really like to record programmes. She has no wifi or sky so I was thinking of getting her a freeview recorder, the reviews seem ok, but how complicated are they ? She does struggle a bit with technology. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. I only have Now tv, as I haven’t had an aerial in years.

Can I asked if she with bt for her phone if she is then this world be ideal

Does she have a smart TV? Many allow you to just plug in a hard drive or USB stick and record to that.

Thank you for your response, yes she does have BT for her phone line, I thought as this one did Iplayer that it had to be connected to the internet?

No she doesn't have a smart tv, it's an older tv just with freeview built in.

Thank you, those are the ones I have been looking at, I was just concerned that some said the picture wasn't great once the box had been connected. I don't know anyone that has one and I will have to sort it for her, I'd forgotten that they even made them.

It’s the one we have! My husband is a tv engineer and it’s the one they recommend the most. Used to be Humax but they don’t update them much anymore so they end up running slow.
Manhattan customer service is brilliant if there ever is any issues too.

Thank you so much for this recommendation, it’s the one I have gone with. Just hope setting it up is easy and that she manages ok.

We've cancelled sky so I wonder if our android tv can record ? I'm off to Google.
