Mobile Animal Kingdom safari

We are staying at animal kingdom lodge. Am i right in thinking there is a safari that we can go on at the animal kingdom park and if so is this included in the park ticket or at extra cost. I have also read somewhere about booking a safari trip (day or night) at the hotel: is this correct and if do which safari would you advise I book, how much and how?. I wanted to do a safari trip with the children to see all the animals that feels like were actually in Africa? Thanks

The hotel safari is different to the attraction in AK. These are the two offered by AKL, both are extra charges:
Starlight Safari - disneyworld.disney.go/en.../night-safari/
Wanyama Safari and Dinner - disneyworld.disney.go/en...ri-and-dinner/

This is the attraction in the park. Yes it's included in your AK/Disney parks ticket:
disneyworld.disney.go/en...njaro-safaris/

There is a safari ride in the animal kingdom park which is included in your Disney tickets but there is also one which you can book if staying at animal kingdom lodge which takes you out to the animals around the hotel but even though we stayed at animal kingdom lodge last year we didn't do it as it is I think from memory at 10 in the evening so was too late for our DS.

We did the Starlight Safari...I’m glad we did it but I wouldn’t do it again. There’s a review of it here in my Nov17 trip report if you’re interested.

We enjoyed the starlight safari, it was pretty interesting.
It’s not the kind of thing you would do more than once.
Here’s my review

there is a safari ride in animal kingdom you just queue at the ride as you would any other ride and a bus will take you around and point out the animals to you. but you can book a safari at the animal kingdom lodge. there are two to chose from these are extra to your ticket.
