I don’t mind using an app. But the email was not well worded. I got the hump too.

I like using the app and never use the online system now. I’m assuming it saves them money just having the one system.

Interesting, only 10% of Virgin Money customers use the web version.

It’s so interesting to see the difference between industries for this, as the app for the company I work for has nowhere near the same take-up

I find the app really useful, haven’t logged in via web for a long time. If only 10% of customers use the web I can understand why they might want to withdraw it.

I like using apps for finances. It makes things readily accessible and is easy to use. I don't think you'll escape it in the end. You'll probably just get sent a monthly statement like we used to do.

Herein lies the problem when you want something not straightforward.

We both had the VA cards with the annual fee. However we only opened up one for my Wife as there was a huge bung to get Miles and cancelled it in June 2020 after 12 months of usage.

However we had 3 trips booked over the Cards some on mine and some on hers. Then we upgraded seats some on mine and some on hers. It was our usual tactic of boosting Miles as fast as we could

The sting in the tail is we have had 3 flights chopped due to Covid so I needed to track what was paid from where hence I downloaded 6 months worth of statements and then had to prepare an Excel sheet of what was where and dates booked etc etc

Try doing all that on a Smartphone! It was hard enough on the PC.

We haven't even had an email. Looks like the lounges that are in towns are closed. We used the one in Norwich but if they don't reopen we will be closing our credit card account. I don't use apps for any online banking, much prefer to access our accounts using my laptop. Easier to see!

I’ve been using the app since the middle of the 1st lockdown and found it very easy to use. Never needed to sort an issue like yours though Mr Tom Morrow 😬.

So I used to use the website and now only use the App. The reason is pretty straightforward in my case.

There are numerous bugs and issues with their web site, and my account can no longer use the website (it always crashes). I've spent hours with Virgin IT support (about three layers behind the telephone team), and they can't resolve, they said just use the App.

It appears they have loads of issues in the website they can't easily solve, whereas the App has none of these issues, so its a huge bonus for them to just junk the website

I cant remember the last time I used a web version of any bank account. The apps via a large IPad means I can go back 3 years (and more if I request) as I needed to do that recently for a money laundering check home move - cant on my phone but can on iPad and I wouldn’t say I was an IT expert.
