A cheer up... just for fun !

Like everyone we are so down and depressed at the moment. Since losing our bull terries, even though we have our Nala, its just not the same here. So quiet and we miss them unbearably.

I have been looking and I know I shouldn't for another Bull Terrier to rescue, I have found one, but at the moment no rescue centre is letting you be home checked or adopt a new dog.

In some ways I feel so quilty as its still early, but its helping a little.

So just for a bit of fun, if we do manage to adopt another wonderful Bull Terrier... Girl or Boy... can you suggest good old man or old lady names please, as they really suit Bull Terriers.
I have had a Mabel (the best name and she was wonderful), Douglas (never be another dog like him) and Myrtle (our little girl) and Treacle (a gorgeous girl).

So any suggestions to pass the time... we are looking at a dog at the moment and is name is Seamus, I like Cecil, Cedric, Trevor, Bert, Stan, really like Nigel but I think you would always associate it with the Gardeners world Golden Retriever.
A girl... Hilda, Gert, Maude, Edna, Flo...
So any names please lovely dibbers, to give us an idea.

Two of the nicest dogs I know are bull terriers they are Nancy and Sykes and it's suits them so much

I like Oscar and Scarlet, I think they are old fashioned names but could be modern too!

I think you can't beat Fenton as a name for a dog!

For a boy - Ralph, Ernest, Sidney, Stanley, Herbert, Bertie, Henry

For a girl - Clara, Lily, Elsie, Rose, Ethel, Dorothy, Mary, Doris

I know you said in one of your other posts "no more dogs" but when you've had time to heal I really think it will do you the world of good to rescue another one. I know it's heartbreaking when they die, but they fill your lives with joy when they are here.

Aww bless you. I know what you mean when we lost our GSD we said we were never having another dog and a month later I had put a deposit down on a Westie puppy that hadn't even been born! That was 12 years ago now and I would love to rescue next time.

So my suggestions are -

Boy - Walter (obviously!), Frank, Rodney, Trevor, Barry
Girl - Ethel, Elsie, Betty, Lillian, Doris, Dorothy (Dot)

That is one of my DH's favourite sayings "Jesus Christ Fenton" he says it all the time, he also wants to call our next dog Fenton (not happening though because I want a girl dog )
