Peritoneal dialysis
Has any one having Peritoneal dialysis stayed in a villa? Is it possible or are you better in a hotel?

Thanks, sisters boyfriend goes for his op on Monday to start his peritoneal dialysis and we are hoping o go next September as a group. They think hotels will be the only ones to take deliveries but I'm not so sure.

We took Peritoneal Dialysis equipment to the Legoland hotel in Denmark so if you have any questions feel free to ask. I personally think it would be easier in a villa as long as you can get the supplies delivered safely. The process really does run very smoothly, the biggest hassle is travelling with the machine as with the transformer attached to the case it is very heavy and unwieldy.
A year is a really long time and things might change - my sons kidney came up on the donor list within about 10 months! As I say - drop me a PM if I can help with advice. Sara. |

My Dad was on this years ago. He never travelled with his machine just switched back to hanging a bag from an IV pole. I would would think a villa would be much easier. There will be alot more space to store the supplies for one thing. We have had UPS deliveries to villas with no problems. If you book directly with a management company or owner I would think the management company could take the delivery for you a few days before your arrival.
