Yes - I agree.
But wishful thinking isnt going to make this thing go away. Unless something happens such as a readily available vaccine or treatment, nothing is going to change. Life will be far from what we used to have.
And yes - we will have more than holidays to worry about.
So lets hope there is a game changer that allows this virus to be controlled.

We have always booked as soon as the flights are available, but sadly not this time - we will be waiting to much closer to the time and we know more.

It’s looking like there will be a vaccine approved by the end of the year, either the oxford based one or trump will approve the Moderna one to help his cause in time for the November election (it’s also proven to be successful and safe in phase 1&2 trials so far too so not so risky for approve for the benefits his campaign would receive if it’s only for emergency use etc)

These are already being mass produced in numerous sites worldwide in the hope it is proven to work and hence approved. The trials in Brazil, US and SA and the challenger trials should provide some early indications in the next month or so.

Dexamethasome has proved to be a significant breakthrough and the covid partnership with synairgen at Southampton have massively reduced the impact of covid on hospitalised patients in trials. Ie those in hospital who go on to develop severe disease reduced by 79% so highly promising This is through a nebuliser too so further trials underway to determine if treated this way earlier reduces even the need to go or the stay in hospital. This may be approved for use very soon in emergency cases then rolled out as trails continue.

Yes the virus is here to stay and yes we may need yearly boosters for this until it settles/mutates like other CV and does less harm but we’re only 7 months from the start of this and look at progress and it’s speeding up, another 6 months takes you to February. Even allowing for a 3-6 month roll out you would be cautiously optimistic that next summer should be okay.

Too many variables but the odds starting to move towards the development of medicine or vaccine for me.

TBF no one really knows. How many airlines will be still around next year? Who can say with certain that travel restrictions won't still be in place at some lesser or greater extent? I mean F&M was/is still asked on Custom Doc.

All we know nothing is certain ATM in this current times. Spain being a case in point.
