Milk delivery how much do you pay

Few weeks back, had a guy getting names for delivery of milk, he said they were much the same cost as the supermarkets. I orderd up a 4 pint for the Tuesday. After much thought have cancelled it as I prefer to buy my weekly stock pile on a Sunday, now my local Morrisons/Iceland is roughly 1/1.10 per jug, milkman 1.99! In whose mind is this a competitive price against even the local shops? Even M & S isnt this pricey. Wonder if this is the charge over the UK, so so any dibbers still get milk delivered?

We pay well over the odds for our milk to be delivered and we have cut back a bit but he's a local farmer, been delivering our milk for 36 years and such a nice chap, we haven't the heart to stop altogether!

I priced up our local milk lady who delivers to a few on the street, 1.70 for 1 litre delivered, Im all for buying local but for milk we go through so much of it it is not cost effective for us.

They are round our door again couple of weeks ago. Groups of men in their 20's trying to get you to buy "local" milk. We refused. Firstly it wasn't that local, 30 miles, Secondly they let us down a couple of times with non-deliveries as their vans would appear to break down on a frequent basis and lastly they delivered the milk at 2.30am. In summer the milk was in a terrible state some days.

We pay 1.50 for 2l cartons. Delivered by a local family from their own farm. It arrives by 5.30 am, just in time for son leaving for work. Nothing stops them from delivering. I don't know how they managed last winter. It is a little bit more expensive but it is local and fresh.
We go through a lot of milk and hate running out. I don't think I could stockpile milk and drink it days later.
