I've emailed the AP department today and will post their response when I receive it. I have read several times on FB that Universal staff have told people there is no activation date so I'll see.

Have you bought one yet? I was planning on buying them for next year but just worried we would have to rearrange to a later date and voucher for tickets then expires! Thanks

Yes, I bought one in June. But before buying it I read 5 times on FB that there is no activation date as Universal are aware of all the travel restrictions. If all those people were given duff information I'll ask for a refund.

When do they historically start this offer - I know one year it had to be activated in April but don’t know when it started. Thinking about buying these but don’t know whether just to get the ones offered next year.

I've now had my response which is the same as everyone else:-

Hello,

Thank you for contacting the Universal Orlando Annual Pass Department.

Since you have a paid in full 3-Park Preferred Annual Pass with 3 month for free, you don’t have a certain time to activate you pass. When you are able to visit the park, please bring your valid ID and confirmation number in order to pick your pass up.

Should you be in need of additional assistance, please contact a representative via phone at 866.PASS.4.FUN or 866.727.7438. Our office hours are MON – SUN 9:00AM – 8:00PM EST.

Sincerely,

Annual Pass Team

They’ve had so many queries on this just from the Dibb you’d have thought they would have made it clear in the terms by now. I’m still in two minds whether to go for it. To get good value it would mean our next two October trips being at Universal. Would be happy to do that for 2021, but having missed Disney this year and if we do Universal next year then we would t do Disney next year either I think we’d really rather do Disney come 2022.

We don’t get enough time in October (or have enough money!) to do both.

How long are you going for? I'm doing both next year. 7 nights at Universal, staying at Sapphire Falls. Then 5 nights at Disney, staying at the Polynesian. I'll also do a split stay the following year.
