Hi,

Daughter wants to go to Gatorland and was wondering if anyone has been recently? It's been 16 years since I last went there and was wondering whats change and if its worth a visit?

We went last year and loved it! If we went again i would make sure i wore shorts (not a dress!) as when i got there and saw the zip wire i was disappointed i couldn't go on it.

It's a relaxing day and for us it makes a change from the parks. My husband loved the gator show and we loved seeing the baby ones.

Go for it!

We went last year for the first time in years. It was a great half day I think they have some more other animals too, my son has requested another visit to Gatorland on our next visit.
My son did the Gator feeding where they take you into an enclosure and see them getting fed.
They had a good deal on the zip wire on the day, both of the kids enjoyed that

Depends what you like, we actually thought it was a catch penny and will never return. Found it quite boring, dare I say, and the 'shows' were cheesy and poor... only our opinion, others obviously like it.

Gatorland is one of those places where it is good to while away a half day or so. It's not all singing all dancing like the usual parks, so don't expect a big wow when you get there! It's good to see the alligators up close, and you can watch them being fed - you can even have a go at feeding them yourself for an extra price.

They have a couple of little shows on during the day, alligator wrestling, reptiles/bugs/snakes etc. It's not a huge place, and probably not somewhere we would bother with again but worth a visit.

My hubby did it with my two girls...when I look back at the photos I have one of those '' What on earth was I thinking of letting them do that'' moments.

I personally didn't like it. Kids thought it was OK but adults had enough after a couple of hours.

We went again in Jan and they have lots of new stuff a lovely boardwalk through the breeding marsh and bird habitat, a cool water play area for smaller kids, zipwire over the gator marsh and now big cats. It makes a nice change of pace from the theme parks and not an expensive day out either. You could be a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of I Drive and Disney.

We went in July and loved it, we've been before and we always enjoy 1/2 a day here.

The Up Close show is funny and cheesy, but also learns you a thing or two about the local predators.

The swamp walk is the most beautiful thing, it is just awesome walking through the swamp and the big trees, we even saw a real live snake.
Just follow the trail, it takes about 15 mins, which is quite enough in the heat.
We also loved walking through the bird nursery, it was just lovely seeing all the baby birds sat in their nests whilst there were loads of alligators below, there are also observation towers here as well.
It is just so quiet and a nice alternative to the parks.
Don't miss the white alligators, they are quite amazing.

It does get busy and it is very hot, so I'd try to be there for opening.
Gatorland is a lovely way to see nature up close.

Enjoy
