Vilamoura and Albufeira

Hi - taking unexpected early retirement in October so before my planned solo holiday to Orlando over Christmas I'm off to Vilamoura in October. I've been three times before - the last time being over 8 years ago with golf-mad ex husband. So wanted to know if much has changed. Is C&A still in that shopping complex in Faro... is the strip leading down to the beach in Albufeira still as lively as ever.

I'm going solo and staying at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa (stayed twice at the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura Hotel). This hotel runs a frequent shuttle bus to the marina where I can pick up the local buses but can anyone tell me more about this hotel?

Thanks

Can’t really comment on villamoura but I go to albufeira twice a year. The strip is very lively (not for me these days).
Old town is wonderful and the marina at albufeira is very nice too.

If you mean the strip leading from Montechoro all the way down to priara da oura ? I used to stay just off it.

I guess it depends on what you want from the area. For me it's too lively now, at times full of stag and hens. Comes to life at night until early hours if next day! . But, maybe I am just getting old and boring!

Sorry I can't comment on vilamoura, I stayed in praira da Rocha this year... my friend stays in vilamoura a lot, says it's lovely.

Thanks. As I'm going solo I'll just be visiting the strip once during the day to see what has changed. Lol...I'm at that age now of being old and boring.
I'll also see if C & A is still in the Faro shopping centre I visited the last time I was there.
