Best place for watching the parade & fireworks?
Hi, questions in the title really! Going in a weeks time, Where would you suggest standing for the parades and fireworks and also how long beforehand do you recommend getting your spot!?
Thanks x

For the parade, we like to watch from near Small World. If you’re hoping for interaction, you should be able to find a spot near Bella Notte Pizza. I think we usually get there around 30 minutes early. If you just want a good view, try the path up towards Small World. It overlooks the parade route, so you won’t get any interaction, but it’s a good place to see everything.

We found at the top of main street to the right as you look down towards the castle. It's the parade end and lots of interaction.
For the fireworks we got a lovely spot to the front left of the castle, near the entrance to adventure land. Look for Small stall selling popcorn, cross the road there, great little spot. Didn't take long to leave after, keep right and up through the liberty arcade bypass a lot of the crowd on main street Edited at 05:03 PM. |

Here currently and nearly saw fights breaking out last night when after finding "the perfect spot" 30 + mins before the fireworks, folks views were then severely obstructed by hundreds of small kids being put on their dads shoulders. This then led to people "having to" hold their phones at arms length above their heads to capture those special memories that are 10 times better than ones ≈≈≈≈ using professional equipment available on YouTube.
Anyone under 7 foot five only the top halve of the castle. |

For Illuminations we found a pretty decent spot on a walkway through to Discoveryland in front of the Plaza Gardens Restaurant. Some railings there which means an unobstructed view, although slightly off from centre. Plus it was easy access to the arcades for a quicker exit.

Can you watch Illumination from the DL Hotel if you're staying there?

Only from the Founders Bar if you are Castle Club. Or if you do the ‘sparkling experience’ as I have done. Not the best view, you really need to be close to the castle to see the projections.

Tbh wasn't a huge fan of Illuminations - it felt like a compilation of trailers projected onto the castle with some fireworks thrown in for good measure - little emotional pull to it. But it was fun all the same.

Unlike Dreams which was made for DLP, Illuminations was made for Shanghai and it shows. Doesn’t make good use of the castle and is really just a way to introduce characters to an audience that didn’t grow up with Disney.
