Tell Me About Thomas Cook!
Hi guys
We are looking to book a seven night stay on I-Drive in mid September and TC are coming out the best priced, not been with them before (always Virgin in the past but much more expensive this time), any feedback on flights, IFE, planes etc? We'll be flying from Gatwick. Thanks! Kev |

TC are fine - IFE has been an app when I’ve flown with them and other times there has been entertainments with a seat back screen. It’s around 5 pound to upgrade to decent films. We usually take the iPad and download them on Netflix before we go. If the price is cheap then it’s a no brainer! X
Flights are decent and the planes are decent. |

Hey!
We have flown with Thomas Cook last time on our Honeymoon and the flight was fine, food was good and the plane was spacious enough. We have flown other airlines too like Thomson and Virgin. Virgin is the best but you pay for that I suppose. We did loose our luggage on arrival at MCO but we don't know if this was down to Thomas Cook or MCO or Manchester Airport so can't blame them. Thankfully we got it back within a day so it could of been worse lol.

We went virgin this year and TC 2 previous years. For the price diff I would actually chose TC each time. Virgin was very underwhelming for the price. TC was fine, plenty of space, food fine and IFE okay.

We travel to Orlando half a dozen times a year from Manchester. If prices were exactly the same we’d choose Virgin over TC as we consider their seats to be slightly more comfortable, better choice of films and drinks are not chargeable in Economy though we tend to do Premium Economy. However these are fairly minor things and we do think TC are very good and their prices nearly always work out cheaper (on our most recent trip we got TC PE for the same price as Virgin Economy) so we go with them when there is that straight choice but we do find ourselves travelling more with Virgin due to their reward flights and better availability throughout the whole year. If it’s cheaper go with TC in my opinion.

We have flown with most airlines and have to say that TC are one of the better ones we have flown with. That’s said, I am of the school of thought that as long as they get you there safely and in relative comfort they are fine! We had some issues with them changing the plane to one with no PE and IFE and their customer service line was pretty useless but we were fully compensated and the flights themselves were great.

I agree with other poster's thoughts that it's a 9 hour bus ride in a tin tube. We've used TC PE from MAN four times recently primarily because, at the time of booking, they've been up to £1,000 cheaper for both of us than VS PE.
Yes the IFE choice is certainly poorer but we don't spend a thousand pounds to be able to watch a couple more films. And even after a week or two of therapy we can even get over the fact that the cabin crew don't wear red. Mick
