SL or HNY?

As the title says... which one?

We've stayed in both in the past but the last twice at HNY although not been for 4 years.

Isn't HNY Due to shut for a refurb soon?

HNY is due to start refurbishment in October 2018, and says it will re-open in 2020.

I loved SL - I haven't done HNY (have done SQL, DLH, SF and HC) so can't compare directly but I'd probably go back to SQL as my first choice. HNY is obviously that bit closer to the parks, but SQL is so lovely and cosy and with the lovely woodland setting. It also just seems a bit more Disney-ish? HNY looks maybe more grownup but definitely less magical than the other on-site hotels!

Never yet tried HNY. Would love the proximity to the parks but have never been able to justify the extra cost over SL. If I had extra money I would go Golden Forest level at SL, rather than standard at HNY.
