Mobile Train travel... how far in advance

As we are flying from Manchester this summer we are considering getting the train from Scotland straight to Manchester Airport.

How far in advance are train tickets released as my dates not showing at the moment.

Is it not about 12 weeks or 3 months?

Also look at prices for tickets on Omio. They often come out cheapest.

Around 12 weeks in advance. I've found that if I wait a week or so after release, the prices become cheaper then when tickets are first made available. Don't know if thats the norm on all routes though.

The cheap advance fares are usually released around 12 weeks out. I sign up for alerts on the trainline to get an email when they go on sale

Sometimes weekend sale go on sale later

You can find details for individual TOCs on the national rail site

We always go from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport and book around the 12 week mark..this years were slightly later in showing the cheaper fares.First year we've ever had any problems with Transpennine, cancelled and had to be bussed down to Carlisle, then another was cancelled there too, hopefully they'll get their act together soon, we did get our full fare refunded though.

Booked 17 weeks pre-train for Man Airport to Durham. Don't know how long our date had been available as there was only four First seats remaining. TPE don't charge any surcharges/fees. As Tesco ceased exchanging with Red Spotted Hanky I no longer use as they charge a booking fee and I find fares can be slightly higher. Due to substantial fare increases I used £10 of Tesco points for a Two Together rail card that gives 1/3rd off train fares.
