We have a good discussion on the latest episode of our podcast about this - anchor.fm/themickeywaffle/ep...7uqf8/a-atqp21

We talk about whether Car Hire is a must when visiting Orlando and our experiences of using Uber & Lyft which might be a cheaper and easier option for some.

Especially if staying onsite at Disney, it really is getting cheaper to Uber/Lyft than car hire. Even staying off site, Uber/Lyft are looking like good options over car hire.

However, it's good to remind people now that we're getting closer to the actual date. I suspect a few people might have forgotten.

Ah, but you are getting a better quality of parking space at the deluxe resorts compared to the spaces at the value resorts.
The white lines are neater at deluxe resorts and are mined from the finest white paint mines from across the world #TrueStory

The lines at the value resorts are just plain white, whilst the ones at the deluxe resorts are "snow white".

(This is starting to sound a bit like a drug euphemism)

Does free parking apply for UK residents in 2019 apply regardless of whether booked direct or through a third party please? We’ve booked a last minute stopover and I had forgotten about the UK exemption until I read this (thanks OP!)

Just another cheeky way to make money from the more expensive resorts. Its not like the land cost more, as they own it anyway.
This is what pee'd us off too. Same service, same tarmac, same space - $168 more expensive in a 2 week holiday.
We had a trial run this year and only hired a car for 2 days, it worked out well and we'll do the same next year.
Will save on both car hire and parking costs.

It applies to all UK guests no matter how they booked their stay.

Disney's website states: "Guests residing in the UK and Ireland checking in on or after 1st January 2020 will be charged for overnight resort parking. Guests checking in late 2019 whose stay stretches into 2020 will not be charged as their arrival date is in 2019".

As long as you reside in the UK or Ireland then you won't have to pay if checking in before the end of 2019.
