Thanks , My flights have increased in price but if they go back down it looks like getting a longer connection would be the better option xx

I would ... I hate stressing. If it helps this was the process today after landing:
1. Walk a bit indoors.
2. Get on a bus for connections (which got full - I saw others having to wait)
3. Walk a bit more indoors
4. Short queue to show boarding pass.
5. Escalators down
6. Security - queue. Show boarding pass and passport. Get out any liquids, electronics, shoes off.
7. Queue for pre-clearance / immigration. Show passport. This last part took me 50 mins today.

The 51&Green lounge is worth looking into as it is very little in terms of shops and restaurants after preclearance.

We went for the longer connection, just not worth it if your first flight gets delayed.

Also booking 51st and Green. Quite excited never done indirect before

Its €35 in advance or €39 on the day. There is food including a pancake maker, tea, coffee, soft drinks and a bar serving alcoholic drinks including cocktails. There's a tv area, wifi, usb charging points and showers!

I've never done a lounge before so I'm super impressed

I always go for the longest connection time, but then, I like airports and business lounges 😊

However, that came into usefulness last tine, for two reasons, first, The flight from LHR was delayed on the apron for three hours, because of a ground radar issue at Dublin, then I had time to get replacement insulin from the airport chemists, as I gad left it at hone in tge fridge.

With the long wait, we were fine for the Orlando flight

My recommendation always is to have the biggest gap available, even if that means flying in the night before, as with everything, time redundancy is better than missing the main flight

We love 51st and Green. It is a lovely way to start your holiday. Its pricey but the food and drink (incl alcohol) is included in price.

You have to go through security and immigration. But the big problem is if your inbound plane is delayed. There are not many options if you miss your connection and you can be delayed days. Dublin while a great airport - it is a VERY bad place to miss a connection.
We use Dublin a lot and aim to be there four hours before the flight.
When connecting, I would be going the night before.
weve connected few times, its a chance you take with any connection its whether u willing to take the risk, its saved us thousands over the years and made us able to go more regular
