we don't do Disney anymore and find we can afford a house rental out at the Tampa Bay beach area for 3 weeks usually cheaper than a condo / hotel room out there for 2 weeks. Privacy and space as everyone else has said at a very affordable price.

DW & I stayed in a 6 bed villa in Windsor Hills. Only the 6 bed ones have a bath in the master en-suite, which DW regarded as essential!

This is the area I live in. It is ideal for restaurants, some shops and access to Disney. The main differences between communities are security gates and communal resort like facilities. Opting for a house in an ungated one without expensive resort style pools etc should help keep the price down. The gates are about keeping non residents out of the facilities as much as security.

We've rented some great villas on Indian Creek and Rolling Hills, both are in the Famosa Gardens area but lower than Windsor Hills prices.

We stay in a 2 bed condo in Windsor Hills - having the extra bedroom was great last trip when I was feeling poorly, so we didn't keep each other awake, as is being able to have a bathroom each!

A 6 bed villa might feel a bit much for 2 of us, but 2 or 3 wouldn't be an issue!

My DH and myself stay in a 4bed 3bath pool villa each Spring. Love the space and handy if we have friends over even for a meal.

2 people in a villa isn't unusual at all.

Personally we have a guy who stays 2 or 3 times a year on his own and our home is a 4 bedroom villa. He lives alone in a house in the UK so it's no different than that (except for the pool and lovely weather )

But with less living space and a far higher cost. (And no private pool)

Plenty of fifty somethings live just them in four bedroom houses here once the kids have flown the nest. They value the extra living space so are in no rush to downsize , it’s the same with villas.
