Me here again!!!

Stop groaning i can hear you.

I have received the official  DLP brochure today and i must say im quite impressed with the prices compared to the other brochures i have.

We/I have decided we will fly as its going to be easier from where we live out in the sticks . The question is theres me my sil and my 8 year old niece going , now would i be better to go for a 2night/3 day package or a 3night/4 day package.

As i have no kiddies of my own i dont know how tired these little ones get so would it be better to go for the longer duration and pace ourselves or do you think that would be to long?

So what do you think as i really should get booking this.

We are going to go at the end of september i know we will miss out on the fireworks etc but my niece really wants to be there for her birthday(anyhow ive seen the real ones in florida)

Too many decisions to make if it was just me and dh i would have booked it by now and he would just go along with anything i said( more than his life is worth not to).

Also while i think of it someone once mentioned to me about a shopping village just outside DLP. Has anyone been there, if so what was it like, is it very far(just thinking about duty free shopping stocking up).

Well i think thats it for now, any advise would be appreciated, ill stop waffling now.

it really depends on your flight times - the transfer from the airport to DLP is quite long, so we lost most of our travelling days.

We did 4 nights for the price of 3, so we were there for 5 days (including 2 travelling days)

we got into the park for about 7pm and the park closed at 8pm the first night - saying that, the park was empty and the xmas lights were up and it was a pretty magical hour - so I'm not really complaining.

on the last day we slept late and took an age to pack, if we had been more organised we could have been back in to the
parks for a couple of hours

so, all in all, we had 3 full days in the park (there was only 1 then) - we didn't do much around the hotel but we did go to the Buffalo Bill Wild West show one evening which was excellent.

Since there are now 2 parks, I would go for the longer time, then you can do a couple of days in each park.

I have to say that outside the parks there's not a lot going on, there is the Disney Village, but it's not very exciting -

here;s a couple of links to my trip report for DLP - might give you some ideas.

DLP for Katie's Birthday

Just a point on Birthday's - you can organise a cake,  I think it was £17 and you also get a card and a little beanie -  you can only have the cake at certain restaurants,  this is not made at all clear,  and we booked for the wrong restaurant.

Looking at all the restaurants we did visit,  I would be inclinded to go to Walts,  on main street.  They also do a character breakfast there which is supposed to be very good,  the one we did in the Disney Village was not very impressive and I wish we had gone with Walts.

Thanks Bev

I print the trip reports off and read them later.

Looking at the brochure our flight will be at 9.15 am from heathrow.

It was much easier decision wise when we booked to go to florida.

How long does the transfer take form the airport?

I would count on an hour to get bags and get to the bus, and then at least an hour on the bus - I can't really remember but I think we landed at about 2pm and by the time we got the bus and got checked in etc we really weren't sure we would make it into the parks that night,  although we did briefly.
