Car Insurance tips please

As I lost all our other tips when the boards crashed, I'd really appreciate any good deals/tips for car insurance in Florida please. .

We have the car sorted as part of the package but declined the insurance so need to sort that out (no hurry as we're not going for 393 days!! (not that I'm counting you understand . )

I think the 2 insurance only deals that get recommended are the AMEX holiday insurance which also covers the car,  or NATWEST which is just for the car insurance.

To use Natwest you would need to pay for the holiday with your Natwest credit card.

the other alternative is to decline the 'Free' car, and hire your own - I've had a quote from Choice Air for £288 for 16 days which is a lot cheaper than the insurance on the 'free' car.

Bev, can I ask if there anything to pay on top of that price from Choice air, or is that it? What size of car is that price for?

Carole - I don't think so,  it included all taxs and insurances etc - it was for an economy car.

I haven't actually booked it,  I really should get around to it, or they will probably put up the price.

that's from Miami Airport - I don' t know if that makes any difference to the price,  I think it was with Hertz.

Can I just point out to anyone who may not have used Choice Air before that although it is at the airport you do have to get a shuttle to the depot, which was great on the way out but not so great for us returning as we had loads of luggage - suitcases, 2 buggies, 3 car seats etc etc).  It took about 15 minutes to unload and load the car!!!!!

They are cheap though!!!
